For a third year, Proco Global is proud to be participating in International Women’s Day on March 8th. This year’s campaign theme is #BalanceforBetter and it aims to promote gender balance in society by eliminating discrimination and fostering diversity.

In business, gender balance must exist from the boardroom down. This is why as CEO of a leading global recruitment company, I am pleased to say that 58.2% of our employees are women, including 35% of our leadership team.

Proco works with clients in some of the world’s most innovative industries. A diversified workforce offers organisations in these markets a competitive advantage, allowing them to attract candidates from varied backgrounds with different experiences and viewpoints. The link between management diversity and innovation is clearly outlined in our Diversity Report, which was published to coincide with International Women’s Day last year.

There is still work to be done to encourage more women to get into leadership roles, however. When we interviewed female leaders from some of the world’s most successful global corporations, we heard that women can be deterred from taking senior roles due to the lack of female role models in their respective industry.

As a recruitment company that works closely with candidates across the supply chain, we can make a positive impact on gender balance. This is why Proco partners with clients to achieve a more diverse workforce. Although many of our specialist industries are still male-dominated, progress is being made. Put simply: more women in supply chain roles today means more role models for the next generation.

This year, Proco will continue to be proactive in the fight for equality. We are proud of what we have achieved to date, but know that there is still a long road ahead. To celebrate International Women’s Day, we have spoken to our Regional Managing Directors about how they are marking the #BalanceforBetter campaign in their office.

We are celebrating the accomplishments of women at Proco by inviting all female employees to lunch together on International Women’s Day. In addition to this, every office will participate in a Proco+ Day – where offices undertake an activity resulting in a positive outcome for our colleagues or community. This quarter, the activity will take place between the 4th and 8th March and be inspired by the #BalanceforBetter campaign.

We hope that their stories will inspire others to help change their perspective on careers in the supply chain and on supply chain recruitment. It is a small step towards achieving equality, but an important one.

At Proco, we pride in our dynamic, inclusive and supportive company culture. We are focused on positive outcomes and reward our employees with an enviable list of benefits and perks.
