Celebrating two years of our Research Manager in Mexico! Mariana is an integral part of our Proco family, managing our research centre and making sure everything runs smoothly across our global team of researchers.

Where did you work before joining Proco?

Morgan Philips and Korn Ferry.

What attracted you to Proco?

The opportunity to create something from scratch – as I came here to first create the Research Center that is now supporting North America, but also being able to work with clients and candidates in different geographies.

What do you enjoy about your role?

I have had exposure to international markets before, however most of my work was always heavily focused on Latin American markets. With Proco Global most of the work I do is across the US and Europe, but I still have influence over LATAM and I get to work with everybody across our different offices which is a great way to gain exposure and to learn from others. It is truly a global company. I also enjoy being a mentor for new researchers in the business, teaching them about different ways to recruit and seeing how they also grow in our company.

What are some highlights of your 2nd year at Proco?

  • I have been able to work with both Proco Global (Chemicals, Food & Beverages, Consumer Goods, Packaging & Paper, and Life Sciences practices) & Proco Commodities
  • One of the members of my team was promoted recently and I had two new members joining this year
  • There are a lot of projects coming up for the Research Center – development programs, working on new trainings, etc.

How has Proco helped you in your career development?

It has given me more of an international approach, rather than having a regional or partial view of a specific industry or client. Now, I understand my clients better and the different challenges they have globally.

What advice do you have for prospective Proco candidates?

Be confident about your experience and what you can sum to the company, be yourself and feel confident that everyone you will be speaking during the interview process are professional, educated and great human beings overall, we like to see the best out of people and their personalities shine through.

What are three words that you would used to describe Proco?

Talented, Professional, Inclusive.

What do you think sets Proco apart from other recruitment companies?

I have been lucky enough to have worked with amazing executives in different headhunting / recruitment businesses, but in Proco we really do set ourselves apart – we invest in becoming specialists in what we do, we look to connect every single day with individuals in our field and we look to have conversations – not interviews. Aside from that, there is a massive amount of research work that we do to prepare and get knowledge about what goes on in the different markets and industries we represent. There is a lot of work and time put into developing our people to help them become the best recruiters they can be.

How do you see your office and team developing/grouping?

The North America Research Center and all our offices really are expanding, we are always interested in meeting driven, ambitious, and passionate professionals that are looking to develop themselves in a Recruitment and Consultancy business. My team, the Research Center, has been growing to support not only the US & Canada, but also Europe and Latin America. It has been great seeing them interact with different consultants all over the world.
