Based in the Brighton office, Phil supports the finance team as a management accountant. We caught up with him to find out how he has found his time at Proco so far, and about his experience over the last 5 years.

Where did you work before joining Proco?
Proco is my first job, and it’s great to have spent 5 years with the company. Staying for 5 years in your first job is extremely unheard of in todays day and age, which really speaks volumes about the company and the people that I have had the pleasure of working with.

What attracted you to Proco?
The opportunity to work within a finance team that had such extensive global exposure, in addition to the career development offered.

What do you enjoy about your role?
I enjoy the analytical side of my role the most, as well as building reports for the board. I also enjoy the levels of engagement that I have with everyone around the business, and the relationships I have formed as a result.

What are some highlights of your 5 years at Proco?
Highlights would have to be spending time in the other offices around the world, I have amazing memories of meeting everyone and soaking in their culture. Other highlights would include the four promotions that I have had during my time with Proco and the exposure I have been given to working with a global company.

How has Proco helped you in your career development?
Proco has given me the opportunity to take on more and more during my tenure from a working perspective, starting out with very junior adhoc responsibilities, and now being responsible for compiling the budgets for the company. They have also supported me on the study front with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

What advice do you have for prospective Proco candidates?
Be prepared for a rollercoaster, this is a fast-paced company and we are constantly adapting to our clients to ensure that we are successful in what we do.

What are three words that you would used to describe Proco?
Fast-paced, Global, Unity

Has your idea of recruitment changed since joining Proco?
Yes, and for the better. Now that I speak to my colleagues daily, I have a much better understanding of the hard work and hours that go into the recruitment process.

What do you think sets Proco apart from other recruitment companies?
Not overtly corporate, Proco is pretty flexible as long as it doesn’t compromise results. We are fortunate enough to have flexible working and a lot of unique benefits that reward longevity within the business.
