Samuel is celebrating one year at Proco Global London! We asked him to reflect on his time and highlights at Proco so far.
Where did you work before joining Proco?
I used to work for an executive search firm in a similar space to Proco Global specialising in Supply Chain and Procurement recruitment across a multitude of industries. I grew quickly in understanding that market segment and gained exposure to developing new business and client relationships in the French-speaking regions of Europe.
What attracted you to Proco?
I was attracted by the potential to work in a mature environment that focuses very much on growing my individual skillset, whilst learning through collaboration with my peers who had been financially successful in the industry for many years.
What do you enjoy about your role?
I value the flexibility that we have here in terms of how I manage my desk and organise my day. There isn’t any form of clock-watching or heavy KPI monitoring, which I loves as I am able to work in a homogenous environment that allows me to grow and be encouraged to succeed.
What are some highlights of your 1st year at Proco?
1 month into my second year and I have already had my most successful month yet with several senior level searches closed.
How has Proco helped you in your career development?
I have learnt that the success I see doesn’t come from others, but from the hard work and focus I put into everything I do. I would describe the approach as a very entrepreneurial way of working and I love that I am growing in that area.
What advice do you have for prospective Proco candidates?
I challenge you to look beyond the numbers and benefits that a search organisation has to offer (as much as that is important and often the primary reason we do our jobs, to make lots of money). Learn about the environment and see the way we do things differently.
What are three words that you would used to describe Proco?
Dig, Bar, Win.
- We DIG for insight.
- We raise the BAR in everything we do.
- We help each other WIN.
Has your idea of recruitment changed since joining Proco?
Definitely! Everything I do when it comes to numbers, searches, meetings, etc… is about people. My conversations need to be honest and genuine because every individual I interact with ultimately is seeking longstanding healthy business relationships where there is an exchange and trade of information.
What do you think sets Proco apart from other recruitment companies?
The leadership structure we have is flat. I love the fact I can walk up to CEO or my director and actually chat about life where we have genuine interest in each other.
And lastly, I am so well connected with my peers around the globe who work in our different offices which is amazing as we help each other and share client information.
