In an attempt to strengthen the Lean Management global standardisation within this leading automotive business, Proco Global was retained to fill the newly-created position of Vice President Global Lean & European Operations Director (dual function), for a matrix organisation. The location of the position was flexible between Europe or the US, but the highest calibre candidate was needed.
As this was a confidential search we applied direct headhunting skills to approach key competitors in the automotive sector. The candidate needed a strong technical background in Lean Operations and experience driving global strategic operations initiatives across an organisation.
We developed a longlist of 167 candidates worldwide. After technical and competency screening by our team, we presented a shortlist of nine candidates within four weeks. All were invited to interview with the client and three progressed to second, third and fourth-stage interviews.
We managed interviews across EMEA and North America. The client was impressed with the calibre of candidates, all of whom fitted the criteria, and we worked closely with the client to present an attractive offer to the chosen candidate. The position was filled within the requested timescales.
