The challenge:
After an unsuccessful search that had lasted nearly nine months, a global biopharmaceutical company engaged Proco Associates to search for a Global Procurement Manager to be based in Dublin as part of a massive global procurement restructuring.
This was a technical position that required candidates to have at least 10 years’ experience across purchasing and a technical and/or chemical background in API production. In addition, the client required a chemicals expert with recent procurement experience in the Irish market.
The solution:
With a thorough understanding of the role and the pharmaceuticals industry, our research team searched the Proco Associates global network for suitable candidates and determined that we would need to open the search across EMEA.
Thanks to our strong candidate pool across Western Europe, we were able to create a strong longlist and deliver a shortlist of four candidates in just three weeks. All of the shortlisted candidates were screened several times and led through technical interviews before being presented to the client.
Our results:
Proving our ability to deliver with speed and quality, all shortlisted candidates made it through to a final in-person interview in Dublin and both first and second-stage interviews took place within four weeks of starting the search.
Of the four candidates that progressed to a final interview, two were offered permanent positions and one accepted in the fifth week of the search.
