The challenge:

In 2015, a British technology firm approached Proco Associates to work on a number of highly-technical engineering roles of varying seniority.

The client was facing difficulties in accessing a local talent pool and, as a result, relied heavily on overseas candidates moving to the UK. With the recent change in UK Visa regulations, it was becoming increasingly difficult to secure talent from abroad, and a change in approach was needed.

The solution:

The nature of the roles and the volume required meant our specialist UK research team worked quickly to identify the best local talent using comprehensive talent mapping and candidate-profiling strategies.

We focused on highly-educated engineers with innovation experience in Power Electronics.

We were able to identify a longlist of 300 potential candidates, narrowed down to a 30-strong shortlist with PHDs and successfully-filed patents.

Nearly 95% of shortlisted candidates were asked to a first interview, and 71% for second interview.

Our results:

We filled five roles for the client, with all candidates offered positions within six weeks of the initial brief.

All candidates are now progressing well within the organisation, and Proco Associates has since started to work on other roles across the wider organisation.
