The challenge:

Proco Associates was engaged on a difficult to fill facility-based Senior Buyer opportunity, based in a remote location managing non-production spend for an aerosol facility. 

The ideal candidate needed experience working for a large-scale consumer goods business and a proven background in proactive strategic sourcing and vendor consolidation.  

The candidate needed to be local and able to operate with a high degree of independence given the role reported remotely into a Head of Sourcing. 

The solution:

Using our deep understanding of the Consumer Goods sector we were able to identify and target several organisations that were geographically convenient relative to our client’s remote facility.  

From this targeted search two suitable buyers were recognised, assessed and finally shortlisted for interview, and an offer was extended to the successful candidate within a two-week timeframe.

Our results:

This position – which the client had been trying unsuccessfully to fill for several months – was filled within two weeks of an initial briefing call from the hiring manager. 

Proco Associates has since developed an ongoing and highly-successful partnership with the client across the entire North American region.
